So heartwarming to hear of your experience with The Dry. I'm numb right now and trying not to overeat considering the state of our nation. I will recover and figure out where to best use my energy in this freaking nightmare. The harm is incredible and so blatant, but then maybe it's what will finally wake up white apathy. May all beings be well. May all beings work for the benefit of humanity. Thank you once again for your leadership in centering the conversation.
Hey Deb, thank you so much for your comment. I kinda needed that. I'm not numb exactly. But I'm sad. We will come out of this, and I do actually believe that there's always a positive. One just needs to stay open to it so it doesn't come and go unnoticed. But yeah, this is hard. I am SO disappointed in my fellow Americans. There was an expression that I would often hear when I was in the Marines. "Hooray for me and f*** you." Seems like that's where we are today." I got mine. The hell with what America and Americans need."
Yeah, hearing about Alice's joyful childhood working the farm with her daddy, hauling water, "messing" with rattlesnakes, the joy and freedom of riding her horse, and being able to wave to her faraway neighbors across the flat expanse....pretty uplifting.

Thanks again.
Thanks for the story. We need new and powerful stories if we are going to change.
That's true, Luke. Thanks for commenting. And caring.
