Let's try to be charitable and say that "reverse racism" is the sense that in certain situations, Black Americans are now a favored class to the detriment of other races (especially

White Americans). Clearly, we all would like to have a color blind society where race is not a factor in decisions such as hiring, admissions, etc. The idea that there is "reverse racism" that favors any racial group is seen as contrary to the goal of color blindness and to the teachings of, for example, Martin Luther King Jr. is his "content of their character" speech. Although he does not use the phase, John McWhorter recently wrote an opinion piece in the New York Times arguing that it is time to end race-based affirmative action. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/01/28/opinion/affirmative-action.html?searchResultPosition=1.
